Highlights Of The PrePartyES

As we all know due to the coronavirus outbreak, public gatherings and events have been cancelled across the world, meaning that all Eurovision events, including the Spanish pre party had to be cancelled. Whilst we couldn't celebrate together in person, the organisers of the PrePartyES decided that the event would be held online, with artists performing from their home country, and sending it in to be live broadcasted on youtube. The hosts were also able to get involved, featuring in a number of snippets and interludes throughout the night.

Of course, with complete freedom over how they perform at their own homes, only limited by what they had at their disposal, fans tuned into an...interesting night of musical variety and performance. Some of my personal highlights include:

Blas Cantó not performing at the pre party of his own country

I would have thought it would have been a given for the host participant to perform at their own preparty, but I guess not. Regardless, Blas made a few appearances throughout the night as a host.

Natalia Gordienko. Full Stop

She gave the fans exactly what they wanted, a powerful performance, accompanied by a slightly overdramatic pianist, and percussive elements on her kids shaker, Tamborine and drum. Not to mention about 5 unnecessary filters over the video.

The facial expressions of Vasil and Gjon's Tears

There's nothing wrong with feeling the moment, and I guess these guys really felt it. I wonder what else can fit into Gjon's mouth?

The production value of Go_A and Victoria

If you've got it, flaunt it right? These guys went above and beyond for their videos, using top range gear and multiple camera angles.

Senhit not actually singing her song, instead dancing with some filters on top

I guess no one told Senhit you're actually supposed to sing your song at the preparty - as long as she had fun though, it's all good.

Montaigne making the most of her kitchen equipment by singing into a pepper shaker

Whilst I'm not one to complain about recording quality during these times, it does seems though Montaigne had recorded this on her 2007 Nokia.

Melani's drawings of all the 2019 Junior Eurovision artists

This is just really cute and creative, and shows that Melani is a gift to Spain. She also nailed La Forza.

Samanta Tina. Full Stop.

Wow, where to start with this gem. She readily has ANOTHER fringe suit in black, and performs in it surrounded by candles - fire safety who? She also apologises to her neighbours for being loud, whilst stood in her front room in front of the window, I think someone was looking for an audience. She then full on goes for it, dancing and everything, putting those fringes to good use. She then names her earliest Eurovision memory as Jessica Garlick performing for the UK FORGETTING that her own country Latvia won that year. She then performs Euphoria, an iconic song for an iconic woman.
